92-06 City of Chanhassen Carver and Hennepin Counties, Minnesota DATE: January 13, 1992 RESOLUTION NO 92-06 MOTION BY: Workman SECONDED BY: Dimler A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PREPARATION OF SUPPLEMENT TO THE FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR THE WEST 78TH STREET DETACHMENTv POWERS BOULEVARD (C.S.A.H. 17), PROJECT NO. 87-2 WHEREAS, the original feasibility study for the West 78th Street Detachment project was completed in July of 1987. Since that time, the project has encountered numerous delays and obstacles surrounding the development proposals for properties adjacent to the roadway. As such, a Supplemental Report No. 1 for the original feasibility study was completed in July of 1988. WHEREAS, the original feasibility study for the West 78th Street Detachment Project was updated in August 1989 and again in January, 1990 to have the study include a section of County Road 17 from Trunk Highway 5 to the Lake Drive West intersection, just south of Purgatory Creek. Said updated feasibility study was prepared by Strgar-Roscoe-Fausch. WHEREAS, since no construction has begun on this project within one year of the last public hearing, State Statute-429 requires that the City Council re-initiate the project by authorizing the preparation of another feasibility study, or a supplemental amendment to the original study, and hold another public hearing to update the scope and costs associated with the project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council of the City of Chanhassen authorizes the preparation of Supplemental Report No. 2 to the feasibility study for the West 78th Street Detachment/Powers Boulevard (CSAH 17), Project No. 87-2, to address the needed improvements and associated costs as recommended in the recently completed downtown traffic study. The firm of Strgar- Roscoe-Fausch is hereby authorized to complete said report. Passed and adopted by the Chanhassen City Council this 13th day of January, 1992.
