"our street has become a race track for
others who live in our area who are going
to or coming from Powers Blvd. a serious
accident is just around the corner.
something has to be done quickly before
something happens. I have emailed Lt.
Lance, who suggested I communicate the
concerns. I have not seen any increase in
police presence. we had bike lanes before
street improvements. These seemed to
help some. Myself and others have parked
on the street but this has helped only
marginally. Almost all of the violaters
come from Troendle Court, Vineland
Court, and Nez Perce Drive. something
needs to be done quickly. The "20 is
Plenty" signs I got have had little to no
impact. Yelling at the speeders have often
resulted in aggressive actions. Please do
something quickly" - second comment
"Thank you for putting this on your
agenda. Is it possible to have bike lane
lines painted again. As a neighborhood
many of us have hoped for traffic speed
monitor (flashing with the speed of the
car), as well as some tickets issued to the
speeders. " third comment "This is
frustrating. This entire neighborhood
would LOVE to see some real speed limits
posted and enforced. There are so many
kids and the topography alone suggests a
reduced speed limit! I’m frustrated the
city seems to think a speed reduction is
not necessary when the residents are
The TSC recommended the speed trailer will be
deployed the week of 8/5 as a special request and taken
out of the regular scheduled "hot spot" list. The area
was not included in 2023's educational campaign for
speeding with the Carver Beach area and will be sent a
separate educational campaign. Lastly, the area of Lake
Lucy Rd east of Powers Blvd, Nez Perce, Vineland Ct and
Troendle Cir will be included in the ong going Carver
Beach study area associated with Case #257 & #260.

asking for this! Law enforcement gets calls
for our neighborhood, particularly Carver
Beach Rd too for traffic safety concerns.
It’s a huge liability."

TH 101 &
Valley View
Rd
She lives on the Eden Prairie side of 101 at
Valley View and has also talked to EP
about her concerns. There is a bus stop
she can see from her window. She sees a
lot of cars going too fast on 101 and even
passing buses that are at the bus
stop. She has inquired about adding a
crosswalk with EP and they said they can’t
because there is no sidewalk there and is
no interest from her neighbors to add
one. She said they added a School Bus
sign on 101 at Twilight Trail and is
wondering if a sign could be added near
her intersection. She understands the
difficulty with it being on the border and
on a state highway but is wondering if
there is anything Chanhassen can
do. There was just a crash out there last
night. She was not sure who responded
or who would be responsible for added
patrol in the area.
TH 101 is out of the city's jurisidiction to install or
require any improvements. The concerned resident will
be notified of the upcoming pedestrian improvements
and RRFBs being installed with MnDOTs 2024 project
and provided contact informatoin to the responsible
roadway authority.

7/14/24 Paisley Path
Can we change the speed limit in our
neighborhood to 20 mph? 30 mph is the
current speed limit and cars whiz by so
fast. Neighborhood is loaded with little
kids out playing all the time.
No speed reduction, potential education campaign
warrnted after multiple concerns (not at this time). Will
track.

Lake Lucy Rd
(East of
Powers)
I’ve noticed an increase in traffic volume
and vehicle speeds this summer. Our
street seems to be the only way for
people just north of us to get to their
neighborhood and I’m very concerned for
the safety of my family and neighbors. I’ve
witness too many cars flying at unsafe
speeds even with pedestrians present.
The road was recently paved and used to
have white lines on the sides of the road
for biking or walking. I would like to
request that be implemented as well as
please consider adding a speed monitor. I
would LOVE to see the speed limit
lowered, but I feel that is probably a
bigger issue to address at the county level.
