CASE # DATE AREA OF CONCERN SUMMARY OF CONCERN TSC COMMENTS &
RECOMMENDATIONS STATUS
203 1/7/22 Murray Hill Road
Parking on both sides of road when middle
school lets out and it's obstructing traffic.
Residents can't safely back out of driveways,
etc. Kids utilizing path from old water tower.
Parking is occuring from 3.45-4.15. Multiple
cars (maybe 6) parked on both sides. Is there
a way to deter people from idling here?
During follow-up call after the 1/19 meeting:
Would rather just have no parking on both
sides. It shouldn't be their burden to take on
lessoning burden of school
entrance/intesection. Elen C -917-744-8432
also called. During follow-up call after the
2/16 meeting: Not satisified with only one
side addressed not parking, feels safety issue
would be better addressed if area was signed
no parking on both sides of street (similar to
Brenden Ct).
Initial recommendation from 1/19
meeting was "do nothing" due to larger
issues with traffic at MMW and similar
issue around all schools in metro area.
Re-opened due to feedback provided
on follow-up call. Would like a
Brendant Court approach or at the least
a Melody Hill Rd. 2/16 meeting was re-
evaluated and recommendataion was
to add 'no parking or stopping' signage
on one side. Also, need to update other
signage on surrounding road to 'no
stopping' to make the area enforceable.
Would require staff to draft resolution
and bring to Council. After providing
recommendation to resident they were
not happy as they did not see this as
improving the safety in the area and
would still make backing out of
driveway difficult. City Engineer
discussing case with City Manager on
next steps.
Closed-
Pending
assessment
from City
Manager and
others.
Follow-up
once
determination
has been
made.
205 1/31/22 Pleasant View Road
There is a straightaway near Pleasant View
Circle and a lot of people are exceeding 50
MPH. Requesting speed control devices,
people are almost getting hit and difficult for
people to back-out of driveways.
This will be added to the speed trailer
"Hot Spot" list and will be in rotation for
trailer deployment. Additional
measures will be evaluated with the
Pleasantview Project and increased
enforcement should be provided.
Closed-
Tracking for
Pleasantview
road project.
