03-18-98 Minutes CHANHASSEN ENVIRONMENTAL COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING March 18, 1998 Meeting called to order by Uli Sacchet at 7:10 p.m. MEMBERS PRESENT: Uli Sacchet, Maureen Farrell, Susan Morgan, Susan Markert MEMBERS ABSENT: Andrew Leith, Bill Coldwell, Susan Wright, Jack Atkins STAFF PRESENT: Jill Sinclair, Environmental Resources Specialist APPROVAL OF MINUTES: February 11, 1998 minutes were approved. APPLICANT INTERVIEWS: Three applicants were interviewed: Clay Smith, Dotti Shay, and Jo Mueller. All will be recommended to the Council for appointment. Chosen applicants should be appointed in April and attend meeting in May. GENERAL DISCUSSION: Due to a serious lack of attendance, the joint meeting with the Environmental Commission and the City Council will be postponed until the fall. This will also give the new Commissioners a chance to get ‘up to speed’ before meeting with the Council. Bill Coldwell and Susan Wright have decided not to apply for another term. They will be missed. Arbor Day update: the Landscape Arboretum has been confirmed, Riley-Purgatory-Bluff Creek watershed will know if they can attend by April 2, seedlings have been purchased from Itasca Greenhouse instead of the DNR, and small (3-4’) evergreen trees will be sold for $2.
