This report also includes information on NURP Pond volume and rate control, sedimentation basin volume and infiltration rates and outlet structure sizing. SITE FEATURES The proposed development boundary (38.77 acres) is located 1000 ft south of Coulter Blvd and directly west of Audobon Road. Of the 38.77 acres in the site boundary only 17.5 acres will actually be disturbed for a proposed NURP pond and industrial development. This site will be constructed in one phase. In this development, there is an individual wetland on the northern portion of the site with an adjacent pond. In this report, the existing conditions are modeled for only the areas within the site as seen in the existing drainage map (appendix). There is also a portion that will be left in its natural state consisting of mainly an upland tree area. This area is not modeled since it will be remain unchanged in post -development. In the post -development phase grading in the wetland will be limited. METHODOLOGY The watersheds in question were modeled using techniques and data found in the following: Urban Hydrology for Small Watersheds - Technical Release 20 by the Natural Resources Conservation Service. Curve numbers, Hydrologic Soils Groups, and 24 hr. precipitation values were obtained from this reference in addition to time of concentrations and runoff techniques. AutoCAD Land Development Desktop 2006 by AutoDesk. This program was used to generate the Drainage Area Maps in both the existing and proposed conditions. Rational Method pipe sizing based on the method contained in W1 L11yu.VVIII14 FJOVUVV x V/ — UVOIVII WIV VVIIOIIVI.IIVII VI JallltalV QV"VIO allu JLul Drains, by the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Water Pollution Control Federation, 1970. The Manning's formula was used for determining pipe capacities. Web Soil Survey 1.1 by USDA Natural Resources Conversation Service. Web Soil Survey was used to determine soil hydraulic group for this site. HvdroCAD Stormwater Modeling 7.1 by HydroCAD Software Solutions LLC. 2005. This Program was used to generate runoff hydrographs for watershed areas, to determine discharge/stage/storage characteristics for the NURP ponds, and to perform flood routing and to combine the results of runoff hydrographs. Stormwater Quality and Quantity Management Plan Autobahn Motoplex- Proposed Industrial Office Park Chanhassen, Minnesota SATHRE—BERGQUIST, INC. 150 SOUTH BROADWAY, WAYZATA, MN 55391 • (612) 476000 PRE -DEVELOPMENT CONDITION The pre -developed condition has one drainage pattern as shown in the existing drainage map. The site is on higher land with flows directly into the adjacent wetland by overland flow. A curve number of 58 were used for the existing conditions modeling to reflect the meadow type cover and soil hydraulic class B taken from a soil survey for this area provided by the Natural Resources Conservation Service (see appendix). POST -DEVELOPMENT CONDITION WITH STORAGE IN NURP PONDS The proposed site design will provide for the collection of stormwater via a sub -surface drainage system and then convey it to a NURP Pond for treatment. A small portion of runoff will directly flow into the wetland. All stormwater will be treated prior to discharge into the wetlands to provide sufficient sediment removal. The proposed NURP will have an EOF at the high water level of 908.5 with riprap to avoid possible washout. NATIONWIDE URBAN RUNOFF PROGRAM The parameters of the NURP calculations are as follows 2.5" Storm (NURP Standard) • 98 for Impervious CN# (gravel road) 61 for Grass cover CN# (proposed grass cover -disturbed areas) 58 for Grass cover CN# (existing vegetation cover) Storage based on Plan Contours — 10:1 Bench (1.0') Then - 4:1 Slope for Pond The NURP Summary for the basins is as follows: Table 1.1 — NURP Information Basin NURP (Required) NURP Provided Mean Depth Ft Pond 0.99 1 5.97 5.01 See NURP section of report for calculations on particular ponds. In calculations, pond surface area was subtracted from drainage area. • Stormwater Quality and Quantity Management Plan Autobahn Motoplex- Proposed Industrial Office Park Chanhassen, Minnesota • • SATHRE-BERGQUIST, INC. 150 SOUTH BROADWAY, WAYZATA, MN 55391 • (612) 476-6000 POND ROUTING (TR -55) The parameters of the routing calculations are as follows: Manning's n grass = 0.24, concrete pipe = 0.013, DIP =.030 Utilizing Unit Hydrograph Theory A drainage map of proposed and existing conditions with runoff data showing drainage areas is included as part of this report.
