SPECIAL MEETING
MAY 29, 2007
Chairman Furlong called the meeting to order at 8:25 p.m..
MEMBERS PRESENT:
Tom Furlong, Craig Peterson, Vicki Ernst and Bryan Litsey
MEMBERS ABSENT:
Bethany Tjornhom
STAFF PRESENT:
Todd Gerhardt, Roger Knutson, and Laurie Hokkanen
Todd Gerhardt: One item that missed on this and Chairman we talked about this is to elect a
Chairman and Vice-Chairman for the year. My mistake. I didn't get to Laurie in time before the
packet went out so for housekeeping, if you could select a Chairman and a Vice-Chairman for
the EDA, and then we can go onto the next item.
ELECTION OF CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR.
Peterson moved, Litsey seconded to appoint Tom Furlong as Chairman for the EDA. All
voted in favor and the motion carried unanimously with a vote of 4 to 0.
Litsey moved, Ernst seconded to appoint Craig Peterson as Vice Chairman for the EDA.
All voted in favor and the motion carried unanimously with a vote of 4 to 0.
Mayor Furlong: Now we're organized? I think one thing I mentioned with Mr. Gerhardt, I think
what I'd like to do when we start in our January meeting, when we do our organization at City
Council and adopt the newspaper and such, at the end of that meeting we'll convene immediately
for the EDA, if for no other reason than just to organize as well so that we do that. That being
said, there are two items on our agenda this evening for the EDA. Are there any proposed
changes or amendments or additions to the agenda? Without objection we'll proceed as
published or with that I'll go to staff report for item number 1.
RELEASE FROM CONTRACT FOR PRIVATE REDEVELOPMENT AND
ASSESSMENT AGREEMENT, CHANHASSEN COUNTRY INN & SUITES.
Laurie Hokkanen presented the staff report on this item.
Furlong: Thank you. Any questions for staff? Any discussions? Is there a motion to approve?
Peterson: So moved.
Furlong: Is there a second?
Ernst: Second.
Economic Development Authority - May 29, 2007
Furlong: Made and seconded. Any discussion on the motion?
Peterson moved, Ernst seconded that the Chanhassen Economic Development Authority
approve the attached "Release of Land from Contracts for Private Redevelopment and
Assessment Agreement". All voted in favor and the motion carried unanimously with a
vote of 4 to 0.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:Peterson moved, Ernst seconded to approve the Minutes of
the Economic Development Authority meeting dated April 10, 2006 as presented.
Peterson moved, Ernst seconded to adjourn the Economic Development Authority meeting.
p.m.. All voted in favor and the motion carried unanimously with a vote of 4 to 0. The
EDA meeting was adjourned at 8:30 p.m..
