Senior Center Activities Update
All the summer programs and activities ended on a successful note. Daytrips,
special events and classes had a great response. The highlights of the summer
programs were the Ladies Tea Luncheon (co-sponsored by Chanhassen business
Hair for Guys and Dolls) and the Summer Pop's Concert with lunch at Pracna at
St. Anthony on Main.
Once again the Senior Center participated in the Barkus Parade (hosted by the
Friends of the Chanhassen Library) where we sold greeting cards and baked
goods, but the big seller was our homemade dog treats. Woodcarving and Bingo
have seen a steady increase of new members over the past several months. The
woodcarving group was asked by the City of Carver to carve wooden blocks of
Carver's historic.a1 buildings and sites for a wooden quilt (like the one displayed
in our library) which will be displayed in the new Carver City Hall. Stop by the
display case opposite the senior center to look at these phenomenal works of art.
Educational classes.and presentations continue to be popular. Two presentations
offered this summer were, ''The History of Lake Minnetonka" and "A True Story
of the Underground Railroad." Four-hour Defensive Driving classes are offered
on a monthly basis, 8--hour classes are offered every other month with an average
of 20 people per class.
Community Bank will once again co-sponsor our annual holiday party which will
be held @ 11:30 a.m. on December 13th at the Senior Center. Mark you calendars
and join us for adelightfulaftem.oon~
The City of Chanhassen . A growing community with clean lakes, quality schools, a charming downtown, thriving businesses, winding trails, and beautiful parks. A great place to live, work, and play.

What a busy and fun-filled
spring and summer we had!
The action began in May with
the Senior Center's month-
long 15th Anniversary
Celebration. Many people
have walked through the
doors over the past 15 years,
and each one has left their
own special mark in some
way at the Senior Center. How
fortunate we are to have been
blessed with all the time,
talent, and treasures everyone
has so graciously given! I
pause to remember our past
friends, continue to enjoy the
present company of each of
you, and look forward to
welcoming new friends in the
future. Good times, friend-
ships, and memories are the
cornerstones of the spirit that
we all share. I look forward to
the next 15 years. If you
haven't received a copy of the
15th Anniversary 2007-2008
commemorative calendar yet,
please give me a call.
