CHANHASSEN ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS AND APPEALS

Call to Order
Chairman Johnson called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
Approval of Minutes
Geving moved, seconded by Watson, to approve the minutes of the
May 7, 1984 meeting as presented. All voted in favor and the
motion carried.
Front Yard Building Setback Variance Request: 1090 Carver Beach
Road, Paul and Shervll Kreuter.
Paul Kreuter, applicant, was present to speak on behalf of his
request for a 14 foot front yard setback variance to build a two-
car garage. No other citizens were present.
The Board agreed that the addition of a garage would substan-
tially improve this property.
Geving moved, seconded by Watson, to approve a 14 foot front yard
setback variance to allow the construction of a two-car attached
garage within 16 feet of the front property line of 1090 Carver
Beach Road, as shown on the applicant's site plan dated "Received
May 17, 1984", subject to the issuance of a building permit. All
voted in favor and the motion carried.
Rear Yard Building Setback Variance Request: 8037 Dakota Lane,
Brian and Janet Foltz.
Brian and Janet Foltz, applicants, were present to speak on
behalf of their request for an eight (8) foot rear yard setback
variance to allow for the construction of a 8' x 16' deck to
within 22 feet of their rear property line. Nin~ Cottrell, adja-
cent property owner, was also present to advise the Board that
she had no objections to the variance request.
Geving moved, seconded by Watson, to approve the requested eight
(8) foot rear yard variance in accordance with the applicant's
site plan dated "Received May 18, 1984", subject to the written
acceptance of Mrs. Cottrell and subject to the issuance of an
amended building permit for the deck addition. All voted in
favor and the motion carried.

Discussion
The Board decided to establish 6:30 p.m. as the regular time for
all future meetings. Staff was instructed to contact each Board
member before scheduling meetings in order to insure that a
quorum would be available.
Watson and Johnson advised staff that they would be out-of-town
on July 2, which was a tentative future meeting date.
