SUBJECT: Lake Ann Park Summer Update
The summer of 2008 is upon us. Its arrival brings a sense of excitement and Lake
Ann will playa vital role in that excitement.
The concession building will open MemOlial Day weekend. The hours of
operation are 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., seven days per week until August 1, and
11 :00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. from August 2 to the end of the season. The concession
manager will coordinate work schedules, order supplies and take care of the day-
to-day operations.
Picnic phone calls have been steady and some weekends are already booked,
however I still have openings. I project 90-100 picnics will be booked with picnic
revenues over $9,000.00. The covered shelters at Lake Ann and Lake Susan
remain the most popular and the new picnic shelter in the Parkview picnic area
will be popular as well and will be booked upon its completion.
The beach at Lake Ann will open Saturday, June 7. The city is contracting with
Minnetonka Community Education and Services again this year for the lifeguard
services. The beach will remain open daily from 10:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.,
weather permitting.
Lake Ann Park will be busy again this summer. Considering all the amenities at
Lake Ann, I'm looking forward to providing a first-rate operation.
