MEMORANDUM

June Project Tours and Picnic
History has shown that summer project tours are one of the most effective
methods of getting the commission involved in ongoing and future projects. I
would like to take a few minutes to discuss a June tour with commission
members. Depending on the number of sites you would like to visit, we can
either schedule the tour before your regularly scheduled meeting or select
another night to allow more time.
Potential tour sites include Lake Susan Park (baseball), Lake Ann Park (new
lights and shelter), Chanhassen Nature Preserve Trail Project, future
Highway 41 Trail and Underpass, future Bluff Creek Drive Trail, future trail
along Pioneer Trail, future Highway 101 North Trail, Fox Family Preserve
acquisition, Seminary Fen, Roundhouse Park (tennis court request), potential
land acquisition sites (ball field expansions), and Cathcart Park (request from
Shorewood to participate in capital improvements). Combining the tours with a
picnic provides a good opportunity to discuss the results of the tours.
RECOMMENDA TION
It is recommended that the commission establish a date, time and itinerary for a
June project tour.
The City of Chanhassen . A growing community with clean lakes, quality schools, a charming downtown, thriving businesses, winding trails, and beautiful parks. A great place to live, work, and play.
