SUBJECT: Crossroads of Chanhassen Planning Case File No. 08-01: Accept
+/- .02 acres from the MnDOT for Crossroads Boulevard Right of
Way and Approve Quit Claim Deed
PROPOSED MOTION
"The City Council accept the +/- .02 acres of land adjacent to the Crossroads
Boulevard Right of Way from MnDOT and approve the Quit Claim Deed."
City Council approval requires a simple majority vote of the City Council
present.
BACKGROUND
The Minnesota Department of Transportation has completed the relocation of
Highway 101 south of Lake Susan and north of Lyman Boulevard.
Since the relocation is complete, some of the land that MnDOT owns along the
Old Highway 101 Corridor is not needed. The particular property that they are
giving to the City is a site triangle at the intersection of Old Highway 101 and
Lyman Boulevard.
Crossroads Boulevard surrounds the property on three sides. Acquiring this
property is beneficial to the City. Staff recommends the City accept this property
from MnDOT to finalize the right of way needed for Crossroads Boulevard.
The acceptance of the land is at no cost to the City accept for the associated
recording fees due at the time of recording.

hereinafter described for trunk highway purposes, and the Commissioner of Transportation of
said State having determined that the same is no longer needed;
Now, therefore, upon said determination and pursuant to Minnesota Statutes
Section 161.44, Subdivision 1, the State of Minnesota, by Robert J. McFarlin, its Acting
Commissioner of Transportation, Grantor, for a valuable consideration, does hereby release,
quitclaim and convey to the City of Chanhassen, a municipal corporation under the laws of
the State of Minnesota, Grantee, for public purposes, all its interest in and to the real estate in
