Arboretum Business Park/Chanhassen Nature Preserve Trail- $171,000 Steiner Construction Services successfully completed this long awaited trail connection in mid-October. This project was completed as a requirement of the .original development contract approved in 1997 between the City and Chaska Gateway Partners. The City reimbursed Steiner Construction Services for the costs associated with constructing the trail as specified in our agreement. Recreation Center Lobby Furniture - $18,800 New furniture was ordered shortly after the first of the year and delivered in August. The new furnishings are from the same manufacturer as the original furniture. The colors and fabrics were updated. Recreation Center Fitness Equipment - $10,000 Four new pieces of equipment, including a recumbent bike, treadmill and two upright bikes were installed in March. Picnic TableslBenches - $6,000 The second of two orders .of picnic tables were purchased in January for the new picnic shelter at Lake Ann Park. Web Site www.ci.chanhassen.mn.us . Trees - $5,000 Balled and burlapped trees were'purchased and installed atN011h Lotus Lake Park and Lake Ann Park. Chanhassen is a Community for life. Providing for Today and Planning for Tomorrow Park & Recreation Commission December 9,2008 Page 2 Lakeside Trail - $60,000 Thistrail wascornpletedand paid for in 2007. . Carver Beach Park Fishing Dock Extension. - $3,000 This improvement was completed this past spring to improve the fishing experience at this location. Fishermen are now able to cast beyond the weed line. ONGOING PROJECTS . The Preserve Trail and Bridge - $250,000 Ryland Homes recently completed another segment of this trail and bridge project. They are scheduled to complete the final leg of the trail connecting to Lyman Boulevard in the spring. Ryland Horrieshas been reimbursed $86,000 to date for the Contech Bridge installed late last fall. . Lyman Boulevard Trail and Boardwalk - $500,000 This work is being coordinated under an agreement with Carver County. The box culvert underpass of Lyman Boulevard isinplaceand the trail alignments are graded. The contractoris now working on installation of acurved boardwalk crossing of a wetland north of the road. It is anticipated that all pedestrian improvements associated with the Lyman Boulevard project will be completed for the opening of the newChanhassen High School next September. . Chanhassen High School Ball Fields - $600,000 All the athletic fields are finish graded with construction of associated improvements completed at varied levels dependingon the individual field. Artificial turf is partially complete and lighting standards are in place. The baseball field will be seeded in the spring with hopes of hosting the first home games inthe spring of 2010.
