REQUEST
Staff requests the City Council approve a construction contract in the amount of
$113,341.49 to GM Contracting, Inc. for work to be performed on the above-referenced
project.
BACKGROUND
On September 24, 2001, the City Council authorized the preparation of a feasibility study
to look at improvements to Lffi Stations 1 and 10.
On July 8, 2002, the City Council approved the feasibility study and ordered projects for
improvements to Lift Stations 1 and 10.
On January 27, 2003, the City Council approved plans and specifications and authorized
the advertisement of bids for Litt Station I improvements.
DISCUSSION
Bids for the project were opened on Thursday, February 27, 2003. Six total bids were
submitted. The three lowest bids are shown below along with the engineer's estimate.

to the Engineer's Estimate of $115,000.00. These bids have been reviewed and found to be ia order.
All of the above Contractors have proven they are capable of performing the work associated with this
type of project. If the City Council wishes to award the project to the low bidder, then GM Contracting,
Inc. should be awarded the project on the Base Bid Amount of $113,341.39.
