RECElllED FES 1 0 2009 CITY OF CHANHAS~EN ~ /IAA~A~ j Ir-";~A~ Emplovment Historv: Independent Consultant; Director of Marketing, EvaluMed Companies; Marketing Account Manager, Target Corporation Listed above are the last three positions I have held. With the daily routines differing somewhat, the general responsibilities were similar in nature. To include: facilitation of marketing communications direction and strategic planning, copywriting/editor, development of comprehensive marketing plans, forecasting and analysis of marketing campaigns and sales data to determine corporate growth strategies; creative direction for all marketing literature and web content, and special event planning. Activities and Affiliation: I have never held an elected office; however, I have always been on committees within my various companies- both elected positions and volunteering. Currently, I volunteer at my child's preschool and various events/functions with local non-profit organizations, most recently with Social Venture Partners. Additionally, I am an avid tennis player, a runner, and currently training for the Lifetime Fitness Triathlon. Athletics, both group and individual, have always been an important part of my life; I believe such participation and exposure helps develop life skills for children and young adults. Reasons for Seekine: this Position: First, I think Chanhassen is one of the most unique and truly special cities to live in, and I want to be an active participant in its continued growth and development. Second, the numerous parks and the recreational opportunities are part of what makes Chanhassen so inviting to both individuals as well as families. My passion for athletics, the love of outdoors, appreciation for the arts and having a strong sense of community are the reasons I believe this commission is the perfect place and the ideal avenue for me to get involved with this great city. Specific Qualifications for the Position: I am not sure what would specifically qualify me for this great opportunity; however, I do know that as a frequent user of the city's parks, I appreciate the importance of their beauty, safety and functionality and could contribute new ideas for their continued growth. With vast experience in planning special events, I understand the need to provide fulfilling leisure activities that address the community's needs while utilizing its exceptional resources for learning and fun. Finally, with a background in sports as well as taking great pride in family, I would present innovative ways to increase recreational involvement for individuals and families of all ages and interests. Finally, my high energy, commitment to being a positive contributor and my pride in Chanhassen, are essential qualities for this role.
