Approximately two-thirds of the existing site drains directly to Lake Susan; the remaining portion drains to a small, isolated wetland on the east side of the property. Proposed drainage from the street and most of the roof and driveways will be collected and routed to a new NURP stormwater pond to be constructed on an Outlot. This pond, in turn, drains to the wetland which then drains to an existing pond/wetland complex in the Chanhassen Hills development. Much of the rear-year run-off for Lots 4,5 and 6 of Block 1 will be captured and routed to this same pond/wetland complex. The remainder of the site will follow existing drainage patterns and go directly to Lake Susan. The wetland itself is an isolated basin. Because of this, a back-to-back 100-year storm analysis has been examined and is included in this report. The results show that the back-to-back IOO-year storm event is contained within the property. The emergency overflow for this wetland is off-site; to the north and east, flowing past an existing garage. WATER QUALITY Water quality is provided via the use of a NURP pond, which collects most ofthe proposed hard surface (new street, roof and driveways). An analysis for dead storage (volume below NWL) for the 2.5-inch storm event follows: Walker pond dead storage requirement Provided dead storage (volume below NWL) = 11,837 cf = 12,334 cf [From HydroCAD report] WATER QUANTITY Rate control is met for the site drainage. As a conservative measure, no exfiltration is assumed for proposed conditions.
