TUESDAY, MAY 26, 2009 CITY COUNCIL MEETING:
Work Session
: The City Council discussed proposed amendments to City Code regarding
Animals, LED Lighting, Signage, Drainage and Utility Easements, and Regional Commercial
District.
Ambrosen-Senn Hardcover Surface Variance – Planning Case 08-24
: The City Council
granted a 60-day extension to remove and revegetate the excess hard surface coverage and to
provide an as-built survey, for property located at 3830 Maple Shores Drive (Lot 7, Block 1,
Maple Ridge Addition). The variance request was denied by the Chanhassen City Council on
January 12, 2009. The conditions with the revised deadlines are as follows:
1.The site must comply with the 25% maximum hard surface coverage requirement as outlined in
the City Code.

2.Excess hard surface coverage must be removed and revegetated no later than ,
revised from May 31, 2009.
3.An as-built survey, signed by a registered land surveyor, is required and must be submitted no
August 14, 2009
later than , revised from June 15, 2009 to ensure compliance.
4.Final building inspection will not be approved until verification of compliance.
7470 Chanhassen Road Zoning Appeal – Planning Case 09-05:
The City Council affirmed
the Planning Commission and staff’s interpretation of Planning Case #09-05, for the property
described as Lots 6 and 7, Sunset View Addition, for the regulation regarding multiple dwelling
units on a single-family lot and requires the applicant to remove Buildings A and B in order to
build a larger dwelling unit, and combine Lots 6 & 7 into a single zoning lot.
Powers Crossing Professional Center – Planning Case 09-06
: The City Council approved the
following:

Rezoning of Lot 1, Block 1, from Agricultural Estate District, A2, to Office & Institutional
District, OI. All voted in favor and the motion carried unanimously with a vote of 4 to 0.

Conditional Use Permit with Variances to encroach into the primary zone and required buffer
for development in the Bluff Creek Corridor; subject to conditions.

Subdivision of Preliminary Plat creating one lot, two outlots and dedication of public right-
of-way, plans prepared by Westwood Professional Services, Inc., dated April 1, 2009, subject
to conditions.

Site Plan with Variances for building height and Bluff Creek Primary Zone setbacks for
Planning Case #08-16, for a two-phase, three-story, 160,000 square-foot professional office
building, and up to a 731-stall, five-level parking ramp on Lot 1, Block 1 of the development,
plans prepared by Pope following conditions.

Sign size Variance request to permit an eight (8) foot tall sign with up to 64 square feet of
sign display area, subject to conditions.
MONDAY, JUNE 8, 2009 CITY COUNCIL MEETING:
Liberty at Creekside Preliminary Plat Extension – Planning Case 05-24:
The City Council
approved a one-year extension until May 22, 2010.
Apple Tree Estates – Planning Case 09-01:
The City Council approved the final plat creating
seven lots, one outlot and public right-of-way, plans prepared by Plowe Engineering, Inc., dated
5/4/09, subject to conditions.
Bhojwani Dock Variance – Planning Case 09-07:
The City Council approved a 46-foot
variance request from the allowed 25-foot crossbar for docks.
