Communities in the metropolitan area must notify adjacent local government units and
school districts of proposed comprehensive plan amendments before they take action on
the proposals. The purpose of the notification is to allow adjacent local government units
and school districts time to request copies of proposed amendments so that they can offer
their comments prior to final action by the community. The Metropolitan Council's
Local Planning Handbook advises that such notifications must occur 60 days before the
plan amendment is sent to the Council for its review.
We have discovered a mapping error in the City's Land Use Plan. The reguiding of this
property was originally approved by the City and Metropolitan Council in 1993. These
changes were not incorporated into the plans. This error can only be corrected through
a Comprehensive Plan amendment. As such, we are amending our Comprehensive Plan
as follows:
Minor Land Use Plan Amendment to re-guide property from Commercial to Office
Industrial located northeast of Highway 5 and southwest of the intersection of Kerber
Boulevard and Picha Drive.
