PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MINUTES TUESDAY, AUGUST 3, 1982 CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Mike Lynch called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m. on Tuesday, August 3, 1982 with the following mem- bers present: Mike Lynch, John Mauritz, Tom Schoenecker, Richie Hemping, Brian Foltz. Absent were Joe Warneke and Mary Muehlhausen. MINUTES: A motion was made by John Mauritz and seconded by Brian Foltz to approve the minutes of the last meeting. Motion unani- mously approved. 1983 GRANT APPLICATIONS: The Office of Local and Urban Affairs which administers LAWCON funding informed the City that we would only be eligible for one (1) grant in 1983 due to funding cuts. The City was asked to select which grant (either Lake Ann Development or Lake Lucy Acquisition) they would prefer for funding in 1983. After much discussion, a motion was made by Jack Mauritz and seconded by Brian Foltz to select the Lake Lucy Acquisition pro- ject for priority funding in 1983. Motion unanimously approved. LOTUS LAKE BOAT ACCESS: The Office of Local and Urban Affairs -- has requested the City to hold a public hearing on the Lotus Lake Boat Access before they send the $84,975.00 which was approved for development of Lotus Lake Park in 1982. A motion was made by Tom Schoenecker and seconded by Brian Foltz to request the Planning Commission to hold another public hearing on the Lotus Lake Public Boat Access as requested by the State Office of Local and Urban Affairs. Motion unanimously approved. A motion was made by John Mauritz and seconded by Richie Hemping to adjourn the meeting. Motion unanimously approved.
