PRC SUM 2010 02 23 CHANHASSEN PARK AND RECREATOIN COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING SUMMARY MINUTES FEBRUARY 23, 2010 Chairman Daniel called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. MEMBERS PRESENT: Jeff Daniel, Steve Scharfenberg, Thor Smith, Scott Wendt and Glenn Stolar MEMBERS ABSENT: Elise Ryan and Tom Kelly STAFF PRESENT: Todd Hoffman, Park and Rec Director; and Jerry Ruegemer, Recreation Superintendent APPROVAL OF AGENDA: The agenda was approved with the addition of recommending appointments to the Park and Recreation Commission under new business. PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENTS: None. VISITOR PRESENTATIONS: None. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Scharfenberg moved, Wendt seconded to approve the verbatim and summary minutes of the Park and Recreation Commission meeting dated January 26, 2010. All voted in favor and the motion carried unanimously with a vote of 5 to 0. RECOMMEND APPOINTMENTS TO THE PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION. Smith moved, Scharfenberg seconded to recommend that Tom Kelly and Colleen Dockendorf be appointed to the Park and Recreation Commission with Andrew Aller as an alternate. All voted in favor and the motion carried unanimously with a vote of 5 to 0. RECREATION PROGRAM REPORTS: FEBRUARY FESTIVAL EVALUATION. Jerry Ruegemer presented the evaluation of the 2010 February Festival. Commissioner Scharfenberg asked about the response from Culver’s. DANCE PARTY ON ICE EVALUATION. Jerry Ruegemer presented the evaluation of the Dance Party on Ice. Commissioner Stolar suggested videotaping the Dance Party on Ice to help promote the event for next year, lowering or waiving the price of admission to get more people to attend and advertising at the February Festival. COMMISSION MEMBER COMMITTEE REPORTS. None. Park and Recreation Commission Summary – February 23, 2010 COMMISSION MEMBER PRESENTATIONS. None. ADMINISTRATIVE PACKET. Todd Hoffman provided an update on the Master Agreement with School District 112 on scheduling fields at Chanhassen High School. Stolar moved, Scharfenberg seconded to adjourn the meeting. All voted in favor and the motion carried unanimously with a vote of 5 to 0.
