1978 02 02 - - - Housing and Redevelopment Authority February 2, 1978 7:30 p.m. Chanhassen City Hall The special meeting of the Chanhassen HRA was called to order at 7:30 p.m. on February 2, 1978, at the Chanhassen City Hall. The following members were present: Chairman Herb Bloomberg, Commission members John Pryzmus, Bill Gullickson and Mike Niemeyer. Also present was Don Ashworth, City Manager Commission members reviewed copies of topography, utilities, land use, zoning, building locations, soil, valuation trends, etc. These maps were prepared by BRW as a part of the feasibility report for the tax increment district. Commission Member Bill Gullickson noted his primary concern was the redevelopment of the core area - hopefully incorporating a development plan to accomplish such. General agreement with this position was maintained. Don Ashworth noted the necessity to develop compatible usages associated with a core area. Such could represent satellite type of developments or uses which would be constructive to the redevelopment of the core area. Specifically, criteria would be required to be developed as to the types of uses, transportation, etc. between these areas and the core area. General agreement with this philosophy existed between commission members. Don Ashworth noted that a development plan was being presented for a new building on bhe feed mill property in the downtown area. No specific information was available on this item except a rough sketch plan which was anticipated to be presented to the Planning Commission at their next regular meeting for general discussion. Commission member Mike Niemeyer moved that the Manager prepare a letter to the Planning Commission explaining the process the HRA is involved in in the downtown area and requesting that, prior to any action being taken by the Planning Commission on the feed mill development proposal, that the applicant be requesbed to meet with the Housing and Redevelopment Authority to discuss this item.
