The heavy snow and melting has caused a number of roof leaks in the conference
Engineering room and lobby area at the Rec Center. District 112 contacted a roofing company

Recreation Center
2310 Coulter Boulevard • Fitness /Open Gym: The rate increase went into effect March 1, 2011. In

Planning & • Dance for Fun: The Winter Showcase was held on January 22, 2011. Over

Public Works • Teen Time (grades 7 -12): On Thursdays, teens have exclusive use of the

Senior Center • Zumba®: This high energy class continues to be a popular adult fitness class

Rec Center Sports:
• Small Fry Sports (ages 3 -4): We have held our first 3 sessions of this program. Soccer,
basketball and golf have been offered. This program is run with small class sizes and meets
in 3 week sessions.
• Preschool Sports (ages 4 -6): Preschool Floor Hockey completed a successful session with
49 participants. Currently Preschool Basketball is underway with 51 participants. Indoor
Soccer is our next session and it will begin in April.
• After - School Sports (ages 7 -10): In December, our Winter Break Skating Clinic had 18
participants in the 2 sessions held at the Rec Center Rink. January Floor Hockey was a
success. Twenty -three elementary school students participated in this program. Currently,
twelve youth are participating in Dodgeball. Registration is underway for Wilderness
Wonders, Soccer, Flag Football, and Soccer.
UPCOMING EVENTS
• Kids to Kids Garage Sale: March 11, 9 a.m. -12 p.m. Youth will be selling their own items
to other kids (flyer attached).
• Indoor Garage Sale: April 10, 11 a.m. -3 p.m. Tables are still available to reserve for $15
(flyer attached).
