The change in location presented an opportunity to change the format. Live
entertainment was not provided and the event was held entirely outside. All participants

Volunteers provide a great service at this event. The Chanhassen High School Key Club
was a tremendous asset with set -up, clean -up, candy distribution, wearing the bunny

costume, taking photos, and judging the coloring contest. They will be invited to
7901 Park Place
participate again next year.

Overall, staff was very pleased with the new location and event format. The changes

made this year will ensure this event remains successful for many years to come. It is

recommended to continue this format in future years.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR 2011
➢ Continue handing out candy bags to kids as they leave the registration area. Each bag should include
a door prize ticket, small prize, and prefilled plastic egg.
➢ Use cardboard or tag board to hang the coloring contest entries. This would allow entries to be set up
in a more visible area and to be hung prior to the event.
➢ Do not issue wristbands as part of registration as it slowed down the process. Instead, all paid
participants will receive a candy bag to signify they have paid.
➢ Increase the size of the candy hunt areas to accommodate larger crowds in the future.
➢ The 5 -8 age group is the largest and should have the most candy available for distribution.
➢ Continue having the Key Club and other volunteers set up the morning of the event.
➢ Continue to encourage pre - registration, but allow walkups the day of the event.
➢ Once again, do not list the start times for the candy hunt.
