BACKGROUND
Pursuant to the City Code, the Planning Commission shall make an annual report to the
City Council no later than March 31 of each calendar year, containing the commission's
recommendations for the ensuing year. Below is a summary of items the Planning
Commission reviewed in 2011.

2. Residential PUD Review.
PUD ordinances govern each site; however, there
are instances when the PUD is silent on certain
requirements contained in the standard zoning
district. In such instances, the City Code must be
referenced to govern these sites. Staff found a
number of PUDs that do not reference the City
Code, as well as approval of standards through
development plans or part of the development
contract. Staff will be bringing the PUDs to
Planning Commission for the adoption of the
appropriate zoning correction in 2012.
3. Review Surface Water Management Regulations and Issues.
Staff presented the changes in Watershed district regulations as well as a summary of City
ordinances and requirements. In 2012, staff will present proposed ordinance amendments to
update our surface water management requirements.
4. Other topics.
The Planning Commission may present additional items which they may review /investigate in
2012.
