The City of Chanhassen contracts annually with
REACH for Resources to provide adaptive
recreation services. Chanhassen is a member of a
consortium of cities in the west metro that contracts
for these services. The city has maintained a
relationship with REACH for Resources since 1999.
They provide excellent service to the community
and their clients.
REACH trains our playground staff on how to
accommodate customers with disabilities, provides
guidelines for effectively working with families and
other techniques and tips to integrate all participants.
REACH staff does an awesome job providing this
training every year and we value our partnership
with them.
The REACH Reader is distributed to the consortium
of cities every season. The publication is filled with
feature articles regarding REACH participants,
upcoming special events, youth/adult programs and
all other information relating to their goals and
mission.

Crossroads of Chanhassen Narrative CHANHASSEN PLANNING DEPT
January 23, 2013
Kraus - Anderson Company is proud to offer this development proposal, as part of the previously
approved Crossroads of Chanhassen Planned Unit Development, to the City of Chanhassen,
MN. This proposal is generally consistent with the 2008 approved PUD in terms of
commercial use, building square footage, parking requirements, etc. -- however, we are
requesting that the City amend the PUD to allow for a quick service food drive -thru.
The originally approved Crossroads of Chanhassen did not progress in the last 5 years, due
mainly to market forces and the poor economy. Present day, with the economy on an upswing,
we have the opportunity to proceed with the development.
Crossroads of Chanhassen currently consists of a Kwik Trip Convenience Store and Primrose
Daycare, both of which have experienced success beyond what was expected. With the
approval of the City, we plan to begin the next phase of development — which includes a retail
strip building with signed teases from Vintage Liquor, Subway, Chic Salon, & McDonald's. Alt of
these tenants are extremely excited to serve the City of Chanhassen, and expect to experience
the same levels of success as Kwik Trip and Primrose.
The architecture features the same level of details as the original proposal — with a varying
skyline, tower elements at corners with upper windows and cornices, and a warm mix of
natural brick tones that complement the established material pallet of the existing buildings.
The proposed site plan features pedestrian friendly amenities such as outdoor seating areas,
sidewaik connections to the public trail system, and bike racks. In addition, this project includes
a high- quality planting plan with a variety of overstory trees, ornamental trees, and foundation
plantings that will complement the site and buildings very well.
The proposed project will be constructed in at least two phases. The next phase will be
comprised of a 13,000 + /- SF retail strip building, parking required to accommodate the building,
and the infrastructure for all of Lot 2, Block 1. Construction of this phase is slated to begin May
1, 2013, with store openings scheduled for October 1, 2013. Future phases will include a 2-
story retail /office building as well as a smaller retail strip building, both on Lot 2, Block 1, and
another smaller commercial building on Lot 3.
With this submittal, we request to be in front of the Planning Commission on February 19,
2013. We will be having a neighborhood meeting to ensure the citizens of this area are
informed within the next few weeks. In order to stay on this tight schedule, it is very important
that this proposal be approved without delay. Thank you very much for your consideration of
this proposal and we look forward to hearing any questions or comments you may have.

C>e< 2013 DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD
+<3 C> Ns
4- NNAD, o NOMINATION REQUEST
To: All Chanhassen Organizations, Businesses, and Citizens
Chanhassen has been named one of the best cities in the US to live and in part it's due to
the volunteer efforts of our citizens. Our volunteers have spearheaded community events
like the July 4th Parade; they've supported local business by organizing BuyChanhassen;
they've been behind the construction of Veterans' Park; their athletic enthusiasm brought
Red Birds Baseball to town; our education is second to none due to schools supported by
great volunteers; non - profit charities thrive here because of community backing; and the
volunteers who help guide our local government make it a model city.
They do it not for recognition but for the passion of serving others and making a
difference in the quality of life here. Many of these volunteers really stand out. They go
above and beyond what is expected of a good neighbor. They set the bar high and
become models for so many others.
To recognize the impact of our volunteers, Chanhassen Rotary needs your help. We
annually award a Distinguished Service Award to one Chanhassen resident who
exemplifies the Rotary's goal of Service Above Self. Past recipients include Al
Klinglhutz, Bob Meuwissen, Ladd Conrad, Cy and Madonna Kerber, Curt Robinson,
Terry Kemble, Mark Undestad, and Tim and Ginger Mulcrone.
Think about those individuals in your business, organization, neighborhood or club that
you feel are deserving of this honor. Please use the attached forms to submit your
nomination and return it to us before March 15th either by fax, email or US postal
service.
The Rotary Club Award Committee will select finalists from the nominations received.
From those selected a vote from the club members, will determine a winner who will be
saluted at the Rotary Club's Spring Above & Beyond Gala. The honoree will also be the
grand marshal of the 4th of July Parade.
Thanks for your help in continuing this strong tradition of volunteerism in Chanhassen.
We look forward to receiving your nomination and welcome your questions.
Sincerely,
Chanhassen Rotary Club

Dear Parks and Recreation Director Todd Hoffman, CITY OF CHANHASSEN
The Riley- Purgatory -Bluff Creek Watershed is pleased to share with you their 2012
Annual Communication. The District has been very active this year. It has
continued its partnership with the University of Minnesota to restore the lakes in
both the Riley and Purgatory Creeks Chain of Lakes. We have highlighted this effort
in our communication this year.
Furthermore, the District has implemented its first Low Impact Development
comprehensive project in the Carver Beach area on Lotus Lake. The project resulted
in the increase of infiltration, and reduction of phosphorus and sediment loads to
the lake.
In August, the District hired their first District Administrator and in December
received their first Clean Water Legacy Grant. The District was awarded $150,000
dollars to develop and implement a cost - share /grant program targeting non - profit
associations such as neighborhood associations, churches, or even lake associations.
We look forward in 2013 to work with all of our local government unites and state
agencies, and residents to protect our water resources. If you have any questions
about our current and past projects, please feel free to contact me, Claire Bleser at
the below contact information. I will be happy to answer any of your questions. .
Sincerely,
