5a. 2013 East Egg Candy Hunt Evaluation MEMORANDUM TO: Jerry Ruegemer, Recreation Superintendent CITY FROM: Mitch Johnson, Recreation Supervisor CHANHASSEN DATE: April 23, 2013 7700 Market Boulevard SUBJ: 2013 Easter Egg Candy Hunt Evaluation PO Box 147 Chanhassen, MN 55317 The 30 annual Easter Egg Candy Hunt was held on Saturday, March 30 at City Center Park. Two hundred seventy -eight (278) kids registered, which was 1 0% higher than Administration last year. There were 156 pre - registered participants ( +38 %) and 122 day of Phone: 952.2271100 registrations ( -15 %). Despite the poor weather, staff believes it was a very successful Fax: 952.2271110 event with over 600 people in attendance. Building Inspections All participants received a candy bag with a door prize ticket and some small prizes. Phone: 952.2271180 Kids were divided into three age groups for the candy hunt: 4 and under, 5 -8, and 9 -12. Fax: 952.2271190 Each age group had its own designated area for hunting candy, which created an environment that was safe for all participants. Other prizes included Easter baskets, summer toys, and gift certificates Finance donated by the local business community. Recreation Center To help market the event, flyers and coloring sheets were inserted into the Chanhassen 2310 Coulter Boulevard Villager two weeks prior to the event. Planning & Like all community events, volunteers were vital to the Easter Egg Candy Hunt's Natural Resources success. Volunteers truly make the community events special for everyone.
