BOWLING ALLEY UPDATE.
Justin Miller provided background information. Dan Engelsma with Kraus-Anderson
outlined the discussions and negotiations that have taken place over the last couple
weeks. Because the Cinema has a new lawyer involved in the process and needs to be
brought up to speed, they were requesting an additional 4 weeks. Glenn Baird spoke on
behalf of the Cinema and concurred with Mr. Engelsma that all the issues have been
worked out, it's just a matter of the cinema's lawyer getting up to speed and reviewing all
the documents for closing. Todd Gerhardt asked if Ray Mithune was going to be in town
any time soon. Glenn Baird stated he was on his way to Minneapolis and would be
available to sign all the necessary documents.
Commissioner Labatt stated the 30 day window of opportunity is a valid request and as
long as it stays in that 30 days, and if Justin can be updated weekly on the progress, he
can e-mail the EDA members once the documents are agreed upon, signed and when a
closing date has been chosen. Commissioner Lundquist expressed his disappointment
through this process, that it's continued to drag out and stated his position from 2 weeks
ago stands believing the only recourse is to force the 30 day cancellation. Commissioner
Ayotte stated his moderate position between Steve and Brian but would be very, very
concerned if at the end of 30 days they found out there was another reason why it didn't
get done. Commissioner Peterson concurred with Commissioner Ayotte. Chairman
Furlong stated there was more information tonight than 2 weeks ago. That's helpful and
he can understand the situation. Whether or not he likes it, he can understand it. He
