Blockbuster Bowling Party Evaluation
The Blockbuster Bowling Party that was held on Thursday, December 28, 1995 was again
a success. The hours for the event was 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. The children arrived around 1:00
p.m. and the program began approximately 1:10 p.m. The children were allowed to
choose the groups that they would like to be in and were assigned lanes. The children
bowled for approximately one hour and then broke for lunch. Lunch was served in the
dining facility at Chanhassen Bowl and lasted about forty-five minutes. After lunch the
children resumed bowling until the conclusion of the event.
Suggestions:
Start the event earlier to allow for lunch to be served at 1:00 p.m. The children
were extremely hungry by the time lunch was served.
Plan some games or contests for the bowling period after lunch to keep interest in
bowling.
Include a reminder on the flyer that video games and vending machines are not
included in the activity fee to remind parents to send extra money with the
children if they so choose.
Continue to include ample volunteers in the program. At this event there was one
volunteer for each scoring station. This helped control the children and allowed
the instructor to attend to other duties.
