Park & Recreation Commission
Todd Hoffman, Park & Recreation Director

Director's Report
Welcome to the first regular meeting of 1996! Take a moment to reflect on your past
accomplishments as a commission and commissioner. 1996 looks to be another busy year. The
Commission established its top ten goals on January 16 (see attached). These goals have been
delivered to the city council.
1995 Year End Financial Statement-Fund 410 Park/Trail Acquisition and Development:
The commission conducted a good deal of business involving cash outlay in 1995. Your year
end statement will be available in February.
Update of 5 Year CIP: A rough draft of the commission's 5 Year CIP was prepared at the
January 16 work session. A clean copy of this draft will be presented to the commission on
Tuesday. If time allows, the commission may wish to finalize this document at that time.
A Note Regarding the Editorial Included in your Administrative Packet: The original
hockey organization was named the Chaska Community Hockey Association. Over the years the
Association has come to be known as the Chaska/Chanhassen Hockey Association. Ms.
Swanson's reference to the original name does not represent the Association's position. Mr.
Steve Olinger, President of the Chaska/Chanhassen Hockey Association has offered to pass a
resolution, if desired, to officially recognize the transformation of names.
