1996/97 Skating Program
It will be just a few short months and the Chanhassen skating rinks will be opening. The in-line
and hockey rink projects have been completed and we are ready for our first season with the new
hockey boards at North Lotus Lake Park and the Chanhassen Recreation Center.
The department has scheduled the maintenance of the following pleasure and hockey rinks for
the 1996/97 season. If the Park & Recreation Commission would like to add or delete any sites,
we can discuss them at the September 24 meeting:
Carver Beach Playground
Chanhassen Hills Park
Chanhassen Recreation Center
City Center Park
Meadow Green Park
Minnewashta Heights Park
North Lotus Lake Park
Rice Marsh Lake Park

The warming house will be open for 10 weeks from December 14 through February 15.
Flooding of the rinks will begin approximately the first or second week in December, depending
on the weather. The warming house hours will be Monday through Friday, 4-9 p.m.; Saturday,
10 a.m. - 9 p.m.; and Sundays, 1-7 p.m.
My attention will be focusing on advertising and hiring rink attendants soon° The positions will
be advertised in the local newspapers and by sending information to local high schools.
