4b Senior Center Report CITY OF CEA EA ] 690 COULTER DRIi~ ~2)P;O3~I~O90X01:~¢~%~ MINNESOTA 55317 MEMORANDUM TO: Todd Hoffman, Parks and Recreation Director FROM: Kara Willems, Senior Center Coordinator DATE: July 16, 1996 SUB J: Senior Center Activities Update The months of April, June and July have maintained a moderate activity level. I am fairly pleased with the current attendance, but I am always looking for new faces! I have contacted Sharon Benedict, Centennial Hill apartment manager, to set up a date when I can present information about the Senior Center and what we have to offer. A date will be set sometime this week when Kitty and I find a mutual day that works for both of us. She will also be presenting her information on Senior Linkage Line and the connection she has with the Senior Center. Also, Kitty and 1 have had a meeting to discuss how we can improve our service delivery to seniors. We decided this meeting was so helpful that we scheduled a monthly meeting for us to touch base and share ideas. Besides this I am currently working on the September/October senior newsletter and am looking into program ideas for the winter months. The Men's Club, Women's Club, Bridge Club, Walking Group, Bingo, Card Club, and Book Club continue to meet weekly. The only groups that have taken the summer off is the Woodcarving, Chorus and Bowling groups. These groups will resume back after Labor Day weekend. Listed below are the average activity participation levels as well as the monthly attendance numbers for April, June and July. I have also attached the July/August senior newsletter for your interest.
