Daddy/Daughter Date Night
This event continues to become more and more popular. A program of this design sells
itself simply by return customers and word of mouth. The attached After Action Report
shows 54 dads and 60 girls attending. This event was sold out approximately 3-4 xveeks
prior to the event.
Publicity for this year's event was presented in the city's winter newsletter, news releases
and local papers. An invitation was also sent to all 1996 Daddy/Daughter Date Night
participants.
ACTIVITIES:
· Each couple was asked to guess the number of candy hearts in ajar.
· A buffet dinner was served including chicken, potatoes, init salad, corn, rolls,
brownie and milk or coffee.
· During the entire evening a "balloonologist" created balloon characters for
every girl.
· At 7:00 p.m. the band, "Alpha Bits", started playing and people danced until
8:00 p.m.
· After dinner, the couples were invited to have their photo taken in front of a
valentine balloon backdrop. This photo was then sent to them along with a
thank you card.
· Each girl received a balloon and candy bag before leaving.
All four community rooms were set up and decorated. Everyone had a great time.
Suggestions for next year would be to offer the event on two nights, Thursday, February
12~h and Friday, February 13th.

Daddy Daughter Date Night
Thursday, February 13, 1997, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Chanhassen Recreation Center
Published in the 1996/97 winter newsletter, news releases in local
papers, letters to 1996 daddy/daughter participants and flyers.
This event was brought back by popular demand. A special
evening was planned just for dads (or grandpas) and their
daughters to celebrate Valentine's Day. This year's gala event took
place at the Chanhassen Recreation Center. Supper, games and
special entertainment was offered along with dancing and fun.
Very successful. Had a maximum turnout of 60 girls and 54 dads.
Was sold out approximately 3-4 weeks prior to the event.
Keep the price the same. Offer the program two nights in a row.
The photos were a hit. They were time-consuming, however, they
were very rewarding and were appreciated by the participants. The
entertainment this year was a hit, but always look for new ideas.
