Director's Report
The number one story of the month .... Mike and Da,aa }-towe welcomed a new daughter, Lindsay
Eleanor, into this world. Congratulations Mike, Dana, Conner and Ryan! Look for an
announcement in the administrative section.
The number two story of' the month .... The Park Referendum Task Force will request city council
authorization to proceed with a park bond referendum. The Task Force will make their request
on Monday, March 24. Commissioners Manders and Frank will provide you with all the details.
Other News
Kitty Sitter has resigned as Coordinator of the Carver County Senior Linkage Line. Kitty's
home base was the Chanhassen Senior Center. The future of this program is in jeopardy.
Thanks go out to Kitty for her enduring dedication to the program.
Patty Dexter has welcomed Ann Ellwood, Mark Fahning, and Brad Eller to the staff at the
Recreation Center. All three are assuming roles as facility supervisors. Ann resides in the
Stone Creek neighborhood of Chanhassen, Mark currently resides in Shakopee, and Brad is
fi'om Eagan.
The Recreation Center will be hosting the Chamber of Commerce meetings in 1997. Look
for the State of the City Address next Tuesday, March 25 (the day of your meeting).
Commissioners are encouraged to attend chamber meetings. Call Jerry Ruegemer at
937-1900 ext. 126 to make the necessary arrangements.
The application submitted to the Department of Natural Resources for a fishing pier at
Roundhouse Park looks promising. We will be notified of our status in the next three
months. If selected, you can anticipate a late fall 1997 or spring 1998 installation.
