1997 Lifeguard Olympics, Lake Ann Park
John Raby with Minnetonka Community Education and Services would like to hold their Annual
Lifeguard Olympics at Lake Ann of Sunday, August 3, from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
The Lifeguard Olympics was developed as a competition between lifeguard teams throughout the
state. The competition events include:
Kayak Exhibition
Beach Flags
Rescue Board Obstacle Course
Ring Buoy Toss
Swim Extension Relay
Rowing Obstacle Course
Rear Approach Relay
Tug-O-War
CPR/First Aid Scenario
Sweatshirt Relay
There will be lifeguards on duty at the beach if the general public would like to swim during this
time. Past Lifeguard Olympics have been very successful and it is great exposure for Lake Ann
Park.
It is staff's recommendation that the Park and Recreation Commission approve Minnetonka
Community Education and Services' request to host the annual Lifeguard Olympics at Lake Ann
Park on Sunday, August 3, 1997.
