1997 Easter Egg Candy Hunt Evaluation
The City of Chanhassen's Easter Candy Hunt keeps increasing in size every year. This
year a minimum of 600-700 kids and their parents attended.
The Splatter Sisters dazzled the full gym with their spectacular show. They really get the
kids and parents participating and singing along. They have always been a fun group and
they definitely would be asked back in the future.
Having the Easter Egg Candy Hunt event at the Recreation Center xvorked well. Having
the extra space in the gym and community rooms really saved the day. The candy hunt
was held outside in the hockey rinks. The week leading up to the event was cold and
rainy, which prohibited us from holding the candy hunt on the grassy areas as planned.
The hockey rinks were a little crowded, but provided a nice dry area that worked well.
Recommendation for 1998
Keep performance at the Chanhassen Recreation Center.
Eliminate candy hunt times on all flyers.
Increase candy amounts for children.
Book entertainment by October of 1997.
Have candy hunt in ballfield area - weather permitting.
More directional signs indicating parking in the west school parking lot.
Signs indicating people may walk through the school to the Recreation.
Center.
