Adult Softball League Eligibility
Todd Hoffman, Park & Recreation Director
JelTy Ruegerner, Recreation Supervisor
Brief discussions regarding adult softball eligibility ;','ere discussed at the October
meeting. At that time, the commission wanted staff to investigate this matter
further and I have developed a policy that I believe will benefit the program.
Listed below is the registration policy and proposed fee schedule:
Resident is defined as people living or working in the City of Chanhasscn. Non-
resident is defined as people who do not live or work in tile City of Chanhassen.
Priority 1:
Returning 1997 Chanhasscn Resident Teams:
a. Registering for tile same league and night
b. Registering for a different league or night
Priority 2:
New Resident Teams:
a. Teams consisting of at least 50¢4, Chanhassen residents
Priority 3: Returning 1997 non-resident teams
Priority 4: New non-resident teams with less than 50% Chanhassen residents
Recently, Chanhassen's adult softball teams have requested that we open up the
eligibility rules silnilar to other metro communities, and to base the tees on the
number of resident and non-resident players. Listed below is a "sliding scale" fcc
depending on how teams fit into the established priorities. Note: The league fees
illustrated below are for discussion purposes only. 1998 league fees have not
been established yet.
