Daddy/Daughter Date Night
This event continues to become more and more popular. A program of this design
sells itself simply by return customers and word of mouth. The attached After
Action Report shows 84 dads and 96 girls attending.
Publicity for this year's event was presented in the city's winter newsletter, news
releases and local papers. An invitation was also sent to all 1997 Daddy/Daughter
Date Night participants.
ACTIVITIES:
Each couple was asked to guess the number of candy hearts in ajar.
· A buffet dinner was served including spaghetti, macaroni & cheese,
salad, garlic toast, brownie and milk or coffee.
· During the entire evening, a "balloonologist" created balloon
characters for every girl.
· At 7:00 p.m. the band, "Alpha Bits", started playing and people danced
until 8:00 p.m.
· After dinner, the couples were invited to have their photo taken in
front of a valentine balloon backdrop. This photo was then sent to
them along with a thank you card.
· Each girl received a balloon and candy bag before leaving.
All four community rooms were set up and decorated. Everyone had a great time.
Suggestions for next year would be to continue offering the event on two nights,
Thursday, February 11th and Friday, February 12a.

Daddy Daughter Date Night -1998
Thursday, February 12, 1998 and Friday, February 13, 1998
6:00-8:00 p.m. - Chanhassen Recreation Center
Program Code 1098.106 and 1098.107
Published in the 1997/98 winter'newsletter, news releases in local
papers, letters to 1997 daddy/daughter participants and flyers.
This event was brought back by popular demand. A special
evening was planned just for dads (or grandpas) and their
daughters to celebrate Valentine's Day. This year's gala event took
place at the Chanhassen Recreation Center. Supper, games and
special entertainment was offered along with dancing and fun.
Very successful. Had a record turnout of 96 girls and 84 dads.
Increase the price by $1.00. Continue to offer the program two
nights in a row. The photos were a hit. They were time-
consuming, however, they were very rewarding and were
appreciated by the participants. The entertainment this year was a
hit, but always look for new ideas. Dinner for the evening was
spaghetti and macaroni and cheese. Consider going back to
chicken, gravy, mashed potatoes, etc. for next year.
