1998 Fourth of July Celebration
Chanhassen's 4th of July Celebration will be Friday and Saturday, July 3rd and 4th.
All activities will be at City Center Park, south of City Hall, on July 3rd and Lake
Ann Park on July 4th.
There will be eight food and beverage vendors that will be selling corn dogs,
popcorn, mini-donuts, nacho's, sno cones, cotton candy, gyro, corn on the cob,
buffalo burgers, and much, much more. I believe the new food court will be well
embraced.
Saturday's activities have been scheduled to take place throughout the day at Lake
Ann Park. To allow people to attend the community parade, most activities have
been scheduled with a break during that time. After the parade, the Hula Hoop
and Limbo contest and the Music in the Park will take place. The day will be
capped off with the fabulous fireworks.
Promotions for the 4th of July Celebration include a schedule of events insert in
the Chanhassen Villager newspaper and distributed around town; ads in the
Chanhassen Villager, Victoria Gazette, and the Chaska Herald; six plywood 4th of
July signs have been placed in various locations of the City; a banner by old St.
Hubert's; and posters have also been distributed around town.
I have been confirming with vendors and suppliers and taking care of the last
minute details. The celebration is #1 priority and will be receiving my full
attention during the next few weeks.
