Senior Center Report
The Senior Center continues to stay busy while at the same time, Meals on Wheels is
growing in numbers. Approximately 405 visits to the senior center were recorded for
the month of January.
Congregate Dining
The average number attending this past month has been about %8 people.
Meals on Wheels
The average number receiving meals has been about 10-11 this past month.
Men's ad Women's Clubs
A joint trip to the new Carver County Historical Society Museum was enjoyed by
around 20 seniors on January 25. Upcoming speakers' topics for the Women's Club
are Living Will Preparation and Heart Health.
Defensive Driving
A full class of 35 people will take the AAKP Defbnsive Driving Course this Friday,
February 12, from 9:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. This is a great draw for the Senior Center.
Tax Aide Program
Four dates have been scheduled for Carver County residents over the age of' 60 to
come in to the center to get assistance with their taxes. On February 9, we had 5
seniors come in, and the upcoming dates are March 18, March 30, and April 6. This
program is sponsored by Carver County and AARP and is usually quite popular.
Trips
A trip to Owatonna has been planned for February 23. This trip is being run in
cooperation with Waconia Community Education, District 112 Community
Education and Westview Acres. A trip to the Old Log Theater to see "A Perfect
Wedding" is planned for March 11th.
Saturday Night Specials
We had 28 .people attend the potluck and card night on February 6. Most of the
people stayed until about 9:00 p.m. and I'm told it was a fun evening. An h'ish Night
is planned for March 6.
