ART EXHIBIT
MS. Nawal Maki is exhibiting watercol6r brush paintings through November. Her.
paintings are of traditional Japanese style with sumi-e paint on silk. Mr. Jim
Montgomery will exhibit abstract aniline dye paintings beginning December 7 and
running through mid January. The Chanhassen Villager is preparing.a feature
article on Mr. Montgomery's exhibit - don't miss it!
WINTER NEWSLETTER OFFERINGS
Winter newsletters were distributed this week and Rec Center staffare prepared
for the rush in program registrations. New offerings at the Rec Center include
T'ai Chi Chih. Fitness Room Orientation. and a 5K Training Program. Yoga
continues to be popular with both day and evening programs being offered.
DANCE FOR FUN - WINTER QUARTER
The winter quarter of Dance for Fun is nearly filled. Miss Maryann Porter. Dance
Coordinator. has expressed concern over facility space which is now limiting the
growth of her dance programs.
AEROBIC INSTRUCTORS ADDED
Two additional Aerobic Instructors have been added to our staff. Susan
Schwietzer is teaching the evening step class and Tricia Corder is a substitute.
Class sizes are growing as the winter weather approaches. Our Sunday afternoon
Kickboxing class draws 20-25 students every week - a very full studio especially
when uppercuts, jabs, and roundhouse kicks are being executed. Catherine
Torntore is the kickb0xing instructor, and she is outstanding.
BREAKFAST WITH SANTA
On December 5, the Rec Center will be infused with the lingering aroma of
pancakes and sausage as the Chamber of Commerce hosts their annual Breakfast
With Santa!
