Tree Lighting Evalution
This year's Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony was held on Saturday, December 4
from 5~6 p.m. The tree was officially turned on by Mayor Mancino at 5:30 p.m. It
is estimated that there were 100-125 people in attendance at the event.
Refreshments
Nancy Lipinski anti Linda Walton from the Chamber Retail Committee were
responsible for obtaining donations of food and drink from local companies in the
community. The contributing organizations were: Pillsbury Bakeries and Food
Service, Houlihan's Restaurant & Bar, Chanhassen Inn, Velvet Green Coffee &
Tea and Festival Foods. The City purchased some miscellaneous treats which
were geared for the young children in attendance. All refreshments were served in
the Senior Center.
Bonfire
The Parks Maintenance staff set up a wonderful, warm bonfire area for all to
enjoy. Santa led songs around the bonfire before the tree was lit. With the cold
wind that was in the air, this was a welcome addition to have at the event.
Sanla Claus
Brian Beniak played Santa once again this year! He did a great job. He arrived by
fire truck with sirens anti red flashing lights! He entertained the crowd with songs,
singing and candy canes. He also assisted Mayor Mancino with the countdown to
turn on the tree lights.
