MEMORANDUM
TO:
Todd Hoffman, Director of Park and Recreation
FROM:
Tracy K. Petersen, Recreation Supervisort~
DATE: May 10, 2000
SUB J:
2000 4th of July Celebration
The City of Chanhassen's 4th of July Celebration is quickly approaching. All
activities will take place on Monday, July 3rd and Tuesday, July 4th. I am enclosing
a tentative schedule of events with this memo. I am in the process of finalizing a
few items so we can begin designing/coordinating all of our promotional materials
for the event.
A total of eight food vendors have been confirmed for this year's celebration.
Vendors will be serving cheese curds, sweet corn, gyro sandwiches, nachos, snow
cones, funnel cakes, ribs, onion rings, pork chop on a stick, soft drinks, beer and
more. I will be working with each individual vendor to determine power needs,
space requirements, and all other physical arrangements.
This year's community parade will be held on Tuesday, July 4 beginning at
2:30 p.m. The parade route will remain the same as in 1999. Both Jerry and I will
be working with the parade committee to ensure that the parade is successful and
that it coincides with the rest of the activities we have planned for the day.
The 4th of July logo design has been selected. The logo will be used for all of the
promotional material and T-shins. Finally, it is my goal to have all 4th of July
promotional items out to the general public by the first part of June.
If you have any further questions, please feel fl'ee to contact me.
