As you are aware, part of the proposed project included an offer from MN DOT to pay the cost of moving 19 trees located along the west property line prior to the start of the project. The City of Chanhassen has assisted the School District and hired an outside contractor to complete this work. The City of Chanhassen incurred a cost of $510.00 to complete this work and has paid their contractor directly. A copy of their contractor's invoice is attached. District 112 is requesting that MN DOT reimburse the City of Chanhassen directly for this expense and by doing so, the issue of moving the 19 trees will be resolved. If you are in agreement, please issue payment in the amount of $510.00 to the City of Chanhassen and forward the payment to the attention of Todd Hoffman, City of Chanhassen, 690 City Center Drive, PO Box 147, Chanhassen MN 55317. We walk the Rice Lake Marsh trail almost every day and I just want to thank you very much for plowing out that trail. By now it is just as clean and dry as it is in the summer and when we get to the Eden Prairie side it's packed with snow and very slippery.
