Senior Center Report
The Senior Center has been a bus5' place during the months of May and June. This past
May we recognized Older American's month with special activities and trips offered. The
program xvas a great success!! Listed below are the activities that were offered and the
number of people that attended.
Currently I am working on fall and earlv winter programs for the Chanhassen Connection.
I continue to work with Eden Prairie Senior Center, Westview Acres and the Chaska
Community Center to provide joint trips for the three communities. Chaska Community
Education has discontinued adult trips, however they allow the Chanhassen Senior Center
to advertise in their bulletin free of charge.
The Senior Center will also be holding a Open House on Tuesday, July 3rd from 5:00pm -
7:00pm. Cookies and lemonade will be available as well as Senior Center information.
Listed below are the averages for each daily activity for the months of May and June and

Special Programs - The Senior Center completed its first Senior Awareness program to
recognize "Older American's Month" in May. Special activities included:
· CHAN-o-laires Concert at Centennial Hills Apartment (60 people).
· Fashion Show & Tea at the Recreation Center (37 people ).
· 500 Card Club and Bridge Club Tournament (40 people each).
· Picnic and Entertainment at Lake Ann Pavilion (65 people).
· Antique Road Show (37 people).
· Free Movie at Centennial Hills Apartment (15 people).
· Woodcarving Demonstration (6 people).
· Guest speaker from Chanhassen Center Drag (30 people).
· Guest speaker from Ridgeview Home Services (
· Author Speaker (10 people).
· Potluck and White Elephant Bingo (25 people).
Miscellaneous - The Senior Center carpet is scheduled to be cleaned. Mv office hours
continue to be Mondays 8:00am - 12:00 noon, Tuesdays 8:00am - 4:30pm and
Wednesdays 8:00am - 4:30pm. Marilvn Luthv volunteers in the office even, Thursday
9:00am - 4:00pm.

The Foot Care Clinic has been changed to ever5' other month beginning July 27, 2001.
The CHAN-o-laires chores are currently taking the summer off. All Saturday Specials in
the fi~ture will be held in the afternoon from 12 noon - 2:00pm instead of in the evening.
