Staff Notes: See attached memo.
Facility Notes:
· Room rentals have increased with the start of the school year.
· Gymnasium space is in the process of allocation for October through
March. Seven area youth sports associations are invited to request space
in the Rec Center gym.
· Fan installation and exterior sign illumination are scheduled for late
September.
Program Notes:
· Preschool t-ball and soccer both filled to capacity early and had 50+
children on the waiting list. Extra sessions were added to accommodate
those waitlisted. Additional sessions will be planned for next year.
· Child Care has returned to the regular Monday-Friday, 9:00 - 11:30 a.m.
schedule. High numbers of children will cause a need for a reservation
system - plans are being reviewed.

RE: Staff Changes
Greetings! We have many staff changes coming to tile Recreation Center so I thought a
memo might help bring everyone up to date.
Facility Supervisors
Jennifer Zarn will be leaving tile Rec Center at the end of September to find employn'~ent
closer to her home in Winthrop, MN. We certainly will miss her in the early morning
hours.
Rachelle Tungsetll has taken a job as a coordinator lbr a senior apartlnent building.
CONGRATULATIONS!! Rachelle will remain on the schedule for closing one week
night and may be available to sub occasionally.
Jon Effertz will be picking up some additional hours while his search for employment in
city management continues.
Wendy Berklund will join us in September as a Facility Supervisor. Wendy worked with
Core>, ttoen this past summer as Playground Director. Wendy will be scheduled tbr
training shifts in early September and will be on the regular schedule beginning in
October.
Cindy Anderson (see Child Care section) will also be available for facility supervisor
duties. Her training will also occur in September.
Andy Sauter will not be on the regular schedule but is available to sub.
Thc current staff schedule will be in effect through September. A new schedule will
be created for October and beyond. Thank you all for picking up the extra shifts as we
work toward a major revision in the staff schedules!
Personal Trainers
Arm Ellv, ood continues to coordinate this program and has been handling the entire work
load since Wendy Pekarek left the Rec Center to enter the banking world full time. Ann
has hired a new trainer as business will soon increase with the season changes. Ben
Walker ,,,,,ill begin workillg in September. Ben also works as a Personal Trainer tbr the
Chaska Community Center. \Velcome Ben.
Child Care
Michelle Perry and her family are plarming a move to Michigan. Michelle will continue
to work in the child care room and at special events until her plans are finalized.
Michelle O'Brien will not be regularly scheduled in tile childcare room as her oldest
daughter, Molly, begins kindergarten and her school schedule conflicts with our childcare
hours. Michelle may be available to sub occasionally.
Cindy Anderson joins us as tile primary child care provider. Cindy has worked as a child
care provider for Flagship lbra number of years. She will be working Monday through
Friday, 9:00am to 11:30am in the child care room (Room 41.
Vitness Instructors
Catherine Tomtorc coordinates our classes and instructors. Since tile departure o£ Sandy
Botcher and the schedule changes that come with tile start of school, we are searching
for instructors to teach tile evening classes. Please let Catherine know of inquiries.
Dance
Marvann Porter has hired three new instructors in addition lo Mimi Wortman - Klm
Com'adi, Nicolc $orcnsen and M~ja Wheeler.
