2005 Easter Egg Candy Hunt Evaluation
The Chanhassen Parks and Recreation Department's Easter Egg Candy Hunt was
held on Saturday, March 26 at the Chanhassen Recreation Center. There were
more than 800 kids and parents in attendance.
The "Splatter Sisters" provided the entertainment for this year's event. Once
again, they were a great attraction and an added feature to the festivities.
Volunteers from the Chaska High School Key Club were a tremendous asset with
setup, cleanup, and candy distribution. Volunteers provide such a great service at
these types of events. They will be asked to help again next year.
I recommend that the Easter Egg Candy Hunt continue to he held at the
Chanhassen Recreation Center. It offers great flexibility for all weather
conditions. The candy hunt was held in the soccer field north of the Recreation
Center.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR 2006
~ Continue holding the event at the Chanhassen Recreation Center.
~ Once again don't list the start times for the candy hunt.
~ Continue having the Key Club and other volunteers set up the morning of
the event.
~ Continue handing out candy bags to kids as they leave. This allows us to
get people into the gymnasium in a timelier manner.
~ Continue using a "staging area". This helped eliminate congestion and
prevented kids from participating in multiple age groups.
