RE: Variance Request for BYERLY'S branding changes
Byerly's-800 W. 78th Street, Chanhassen, MN. 55317
Allow signage with logo to exceed 30% of the sign display area.
Byerly's (Lund Food Holdings, Inc.) is undergoing a rebranding project on all of its (26) stores within the
Twin Cities area. The new brand is "LUNDS & BYERLYS" with an "L&B" logo as an integral part of the
brand. All labeling, marketing and signage would carry this new brand and the logo and lettering are a
unit in all of its uses.
The existing BYERLY'S sign and logos at this Chanhassen location are all larger in size and square footage
when compared to the new proposed branding. We would have to change the design forjust this one
location if held to the existing code. The new brand is smaller and still fits nicely within the existing
building design. (The attached building photo mock ups provide the new look compared to the existing
signs for each facade.) The overall appearance of the new signage is in line with the look and feel of the
existing signage. It is more of a "replacement" type project with upgrades to new LED style lighting
which also provides energy savings.
