SUBJ: 2016 Tree Lighting Ceremony
This year's annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held on Saturday,
December 3rd at 5:00 p.m. on the plaza in City Center Park. The event will run for
approximately one hour, with the holiday tree being lit around 5:15 p.m.

Activities at this year's event include live reindeer, refreshments, bonfires, carolers, gingerbread
house displays, and a special visit from Santa Claus. The event is free and open to all ages. New
for this year, SouthWest Transit will have a decorated Trolley onsite and be collecting donations
for Toys for Tots.
This annual event is expected to draw approximately 300-400 attendees. Flyers will be
distributed in the Chanhassen Villager and will be posted at City Hall and the Chanhassen
Recreation Center. Information is also included on the city's website and Facebook page.
The Tree Lighting Ceremony is co-sponsored by the City of Chanhassen,
BuyChanhassen, SouthWest Chamber of Commerce, SouthWest Metro Transit and The Mustard
Seed Landscape and Garden Center.

Chanhassen Nature Preserve.
Trails will be cleared and lit with hundreds of
glowing luminaries to lead the way. Afterwards, stop by
the Holiday Inn Express for warm beverages,
treats, and a bonfire.
