RE Rick Dorsey (50)Rick, I just received the storm water drainage information from SRF yesterday but have not had time to review it. I do not have any historic drainage information north of Lyman I can review. As we discussed, the Sunset Trail intersection will be lowered, the sight lines will be improved at Lyman, the alignment will be shifted to the west about 11’ and will “T” into Lyman Blvd. perpendicular under the proposed design. The design meets state standards. The proposed improvement is a significant improvement from what is out there today. The County looked at moving this intersection farther to the west. The County is reluctant to move the alignment anymore because it will require acquiring additional right-of-way, have more impacts and cost more. If you can work out an agreement with the County to realign the intersection it would be OK with me. Regards, Paul Oehme, P.E. Have you reviewed the storm water drainage information from SRF? You should have been copied. Have you followed up on the historic water drainage north of Lyman flowing to the west? Should we meet to review it together? As I showed you the natural drainage north of Lyman Blvd was to the west. I showed you a ditch also exists along the north side of Lyman both east and west of the Goers property, a culvert under their driveway to connect the ditches should have installed instead of one under Lyman. The drainage should be corrected now. A significant sum of money can be saved by eliminating the 130 feet of 24 inch culvert needed to carry under the road at the proposed location and running a much smaller culvert under the Goers/their neighbor's driveway to connect the ditch on the north side of the road parallel to Lyman Blvd. As the original culvert (before the current Lyman Blvd was built in 1981) only carried water from a very small pocket of land against Lyman Blvd. that mostly captured runoff from Lyman Blvd trapped east of the Goers driveway, it should no longer be needed as the road will have curb and gutter and a culvert should go under the driveways. With respect to the intersection of Lyman Blvd and Sunset Tr; you say in your email that "Lyndon does not want to move the alignment of Sunset Trail at this time". Is he planning to move it in the future? Is this not also a city issue? As I told you we are not at all happy with the placement of the intersection as it is and have expressed our concern for several years to straighten Sunset Trail to have its approach perpendicular to Lyman Blvd. and our current driveway access. We would like to get it resolved now before the City needs to sign off on the Lyman Blvd rebuilding plan. Lyndon does not want to move the alignment of Sunset Trail at this time. The proposed design is a improvement from what exists, it meets design standards and would add to the cost of the project if realigned. Paul Oehme, P.E. Specifically (but not limited to) surface water drainage along Lyman Blvd, the alignment of Lyman Blvd and the location of the intersection/access to Lyman Blvd from Sunset Trail and our house?
