on Saturday May 8, 1976. The following members were present: Walter Hobbs
Lyle Ricklefs, Dick Dutcher, Richard Lyman, Myrna Kurvers, Father Armand

Lake Ann Park The Bicentennial Commission members arrived at Lake Ann Park
at 8:00 Saturday morning May 8, 1976. The Commission then proceeded to tour
Lake Ann Park trying to determine the location of the different events which
are going to be going on during the "Picnic in the Park" celebration.
Locations The location of the soundshell and square dancer was determined.
The commission was in agreement that the sound shell and square dancers
would be located down near Lake Ann on the south end of the beach area.
Sound Shell Roy Rosser explained the way that the step in the sound shell
was made in previous years for Frontier Days. All of the materials were
purchased from Frontier Lumber just for the day, and then returned. The
materials needed would be such things as 2x4, 4x8, end nails.
Electr.. y Three (3) possibilities are open for the "Picnic in the Park"
celebrations source of electricity. They are:
1. Motor homes (also use the inside for dreeeing )
( , rooms for the square ,4004e*s. )
2. Rescue Squad (but if the fire dept. gets a call )
(they're source of electricity is gone. )
3. .Portable Generator
Steam Engine The steam engine was discussed and decided that it would be kept
up at the top of the hill in Lake Ann Park. The cost of having the steam engine
on exhibit would run between $35 - $40.
Promotion Activity A need to get a flyer distributed through the schools
was mentioned by the Commission. The flyer should include such things as
the starting date and also things that are going to be scheduled during the
day. The exact time for all events is not necessary at the present time.
Dress Mark Geyer suggested that Historical Drees +should be worn instead of
Bicentennial Dress, because people would be more apt to put on something,
historical instead of going out and:buying something and or making somethig.
Grant Chairman Walter Hobbs read a letter which confirmed that the Bicentennial
Commission, was granted $3000 toward the restoration(. of the Village Hall.
