PRC 1979 03 13 ,...., M I NUT E S Special Park-and Recreation Commission Tuesday, March 13, 1979 Chanhassen Elementary School Chairman Joe Betz called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m.. Members present were Joe Betz, Phyllis Pope, Shirley Chellis and Mary Muehlhausen. Shirley Chellis made a motion to approve the minutes of the last meeting. Mary Muehlhausen seconded the motion. Motion passed. The Commission reviewed Denis Stedman's letter of resignation from the Park Commission. Chairman Betz requests that the City write a letter of appreciation and thanks for all the years of volunteer time devoted to the city of Chanhassen. City Administrator Don Ashworth reviewed the 5~Year Capital Improvement Program with the Commission. Upon completion of the reviewal and the necessary changes were made, Phyllis Pope made a motion that the Commission accept the 5-Year Capital "...., Improvement Program as "revised and amended, Tuesday, March 13, 1979". Shirley Chellis seconded the motion. Motion passed. Bob Waibel of the Planning Commission Staff presented the alternatives the City was considering with the recent land acquisition by the City on the North end of Lotus Lake for a community park. Bob reviewed and articulated the merits of each of the proposals. Mary Muehlhausen made a motion that the Commission recommend Exhibit Concept "c" of the Near Mountain Project be endorsed by the Commission and forwarded to the Council. Shirley Chellis seconded the motion. Motion passed. Bob Waibel gave a general overview of the proposed development at the North end of Lotus Lake. He would like to elaborate more at the next Park Commission meeting. Shirely Chellis moved to adjourn. Phyllis Pope seconded. Motion passed. Adjourned at 9:35 p.m. Respectfully submitted, ",.....
